Territorial Design: Spatial Practices Across Architecture, Geography, and Urbanization provides a framework for addressing the key spatial and political debates that the practice of territorial design must consider today. Organized into four sections—Repoliticizing Territory, Territorial Ecologies, Territorial Histories, and Planetarization—the book presents territory as a relational, trans-scalar spatial category that enables architects to intervene in the mechanisms binding communities, environments, and resources together. The current absence of territorial design diminishes the social and spatial relevance of architecture and urbanism, limiting their ability to confront the profound challenges facing the planet. To reverse this absence, Territorial Design calls for a decisive territorial reorientation of the practices of architecture and urbanism—a territorial turn to address our most pressing social and environmental concerns.
